Breathwork - an active meditation.

This work is useful in managing feelings of anxiety, mild-moderate depression, and high levels of stress. Some people report altered states of consciousness, creating resolutions to past traumatic events and connecting to the spiritual realm. Ultimately, breathwork is a fast-track access point to the next step forward in your life.

70% of your body’s detoxification processes happen naturally through respiration or breathing. Breathwork is a tool we utilize to enhance and support this naturally occurring process. Breathing in this way rapidly cleanses the system as a whole from the inside out and the effects are observed in both body and mind.

This style of breathwork is practiced laying down in any comfortable position. Participants are guided to breathe at a quicker pace than their regular resting breathing rate, finding a defined rhythm.

By stimulating and then overriding the sympathetic nervous system (the body’s fight or flight response), Breathwork shifts the body into a state of parasympathetic functioning (the body’s rest and relaxation response). We move into a state of ease, receptivity, and peace at the final stages of a session.

When we breathe deliberately, in this way, we feel the way we are meant to feel - open and free in the body, heart, and mind.

Who is Breathwork for?

Breathwork is a form of self care. It is used as a tool, when going through a period of growth, challenge, change, or as a way to enliven health and stimulate creativity. It strengthens personal clarity. It offers a feeling of harmony between heart, mind, body, and environment. Breathwork is for those willing to dive inward and create changes to the rather hard, dark, or overlooked parts of themselves that are seeking attention/relief.

Often the hardest part is showing up and saying yes to the experience. Some initial resistance is quite common, likely because you know that change and momentum are about to occur - which isn’t always smooth and/or easy.

Breathwork sessions have the potential to create immediate resolutions to recurring problems, emotional habits, and pain syndromes. It may guide you to see, release, move, or integrate subconscious patterns with precision.

It’s important to feel comfortable and ready to work with your chosen Breathwork teacher or guide. Ask any questions you have before you begin.
